The man who dragged a Prince George’s County Police Officer nearly 300 feet was sentenced to 25 years for first-degree assault.
The 27-year-old, Danny Harvell, pleaded guilty to the charge in July. All but four years of his sentence will be suspended, and he will spend five years on supervised probation.
“I would like to be clear that injuring those who protect and serve our community is unacceptable and I hope this sends a message that this behavior will not be tolerated,” said Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Angela Alsobrooks.
The officer sustained a broken thigh bone and had to undergo extensive surgery following the crash.
