ARLINGTON, Va. (WUSA9) -- A 17-year-old girl was groped by a stranger on her way home from school on Monday, say Arlington County Police officials.

Officials say the teenager was in the 4100 block of S. Four Mile Run Drive walking from school to home at 4:15 p.m. when a male approached her from behind and grabbed her buttocks. He then ran away.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his twenties, approximately 5'11" tall and 140 pounds. He was wearing a blue beanie, long sleeve gray t-shirt with blue sleeves and jeans

"This is a huge deal, obviously if you're a high school student right now, or a parent of a young female, you want this individual caught," Arlington County Police spokesperson Dustin Sternbeck told WUSA9.

The victim was wearing headphones at the time of the assault and did not hear the man approach, police said. Police are advising anyone walking alone to keep one ear open.
