CHANTILLY, Va. — We are always down for chocolate and coffee, and in reality, who wouldn't be?
This weekend, coffee lovers and chocolate enthusiasts enjoyed a celebration of delights at the DMV Chocolate and Coffee Festival in Chantilly, Virginia. The two-day gathering featured expert-led tastings, family activities, and a community that was united by the sensory adventure of combining the sweet and the bitter.
Folks from all over the DMV joined the Coffee Education Lab where they could see firsthand how baristas delicately use their talent to achieve the best aroma as they pour an Americano, an oat milk latte, or a ristretto into a cup.
Visitors also had the opportunity to learn from different coffee practices implemented in other parts of the world. WUSA9 spoke with a visitor who said she "felt like she landed in Istanbul, Turkey, and had the best coffee of my life."
Among the most renowned vendors, Turkish Coffee Lady brought old-brewing traditions to the DMV, and River Sea Chocolates demonstrated how chocolate has "the power to change everyone's mood."
It is worth mentioning that this was the place to be if you have a sweet tooth. From milk to dark to white chocolate, all varieties were available to accompany your coffee choice.
Local artisans also displayed and offered handcrafted soaps, candles, souvenirs, and other types of gifts.
From innovative coffee practices to sustainable recipes and agricultural products, the DMV Chocolate and Coffee Festival was a devoted celebration of community and craft.
