Victim runs to Suitland high school for help after double shooting

Two people were sent to the hospital after a shooting in Tuesday Prince George’s County, Maryland, miles away from Suitland High School.

SUITLAND, Md. — A double shooting at an apartment building in Suitland, Maryland, Tuesday afternoon seriously injured a woman and sent a man running nearby to Suitland High School for help.

The incident occurred at Sussex Square Apartments on Brook Drive in Suitland a few minutes before 4 p.m., according to Prince George's County Police Department.

When officers arrived, they found a woman who had been shot inside the apartment building. She was taken to a hospital with serious injuries from the gunshot. 

The second victim of the shooting was found at Suitland High School on Silver Hill Road, where he ran to find help. Officers located the man and he was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

The identities of the victims including age and names have not been released.

Officials confirmed the school was not involved in the shooting. So far no arrest has been made. Police have not released any information regarding a suspect description, motive, or what may have happened in the moments leading up to the shooting.
