FAIRLAND, Md. (WUSA9) -- A 21-year-old is dead after a crash involving a motorcycle and a car Tuesday evening in the Briggs Chaney area, Montgomery County police said.
The crash happened around 5:59 p.m. in the area of Old Columbia Pike and Briggs Chaney Road, police said.
According to authorities a green, 2011 Toyota Camry was making a left turn northbound on Old Columbia Pike onto westbound Briggs Chaney Road when a 2009 Suzuki DR-Z125 was going southbound on Old Columbia Pike at Briggs Chaney Road. The motorcycle and car crashed at the intersection.
Police identified the victim as Addisu Mesfin, 21, of Burtonsville. He died from his injuries at the scene.
The driver of the car was identified as Nancy Cermak, 64, of Silver Spring. She was not hurt in the crash.
