SILVER SPRING, Md. (WUSA9) -- Montgomery County police say that they have arrested a man for the death of Marc St. Aubin, who was found dead in a driveway in Silver Spring.
Twenty-three-year-old Marc Taylor St. Aubin was a renter at a home in the 15800 block of Laughlin Lane, where the incident occurred on March 3.
Police responded to a shooting at the home around 10:30 p.m. where they found St. Abin dead in the driveway. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled the death a homicide, say police. Police added in an update on Sunday that St. Aubin suffered a stab wound. A holster was found along the small of his back. The handgun has not been recovered.
Witnesses inside of the home at the time of the incident told police that armed suspects entered and a struggle ensued. They also reported hearing gunshots. St. Aubin was injured, and they told police they brought him to a car in the driveway so that he could be driven to the hospital, according to police.
Other witnesses started removing items from the house, including guns, a safe, and suspected marijuana, say police. Officers recovered bullets from the home.
Officers were also notified that a man was dropped off at a nearby hospital, after reportedly suffering from gunshot wounds. He was identified as 26-year-old Tavon Miles of Gaithersburg. A bullet was recovered from Miles' clothing during medical treatment and compared to the bullets recovered from inside the home, according to police. "The comparison revealed that all of the recovered projectiles were of the same caliber and fired from the same gun. The victim had a gun of that caliber registered through Maryland," according to a police news release.
Tavon Miles was charged on the evening of March 22 with first-degree murder, first-degree burglary, and armed robbery. He is being held without bond, say police.
