WALKERSVILLE, Md. (WUSA9) -- Emergency crews are at the scene of a school bus accident in the area of Woodsboro Pike and Stauffer Road on Friday morning.
Officials tell us the call came in at 8:30 a.m. for an accident involving a Frederick County Public Schools bus and two other vehicles.
Preliminary investigation indicates the bus was traveling north on Woodsboro Pike when it was struck just in front of the rear wheels by a vehicle traveling east on Stauffer Road, officials say.
The bus then swerved into the southbound lanes of Woodsboro Pike where it struck a third vehicle.
Officials say 11 children from the bus and three adults -- the drivers of each vehicle -- were transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries. There were 27 children on the bus at the time of the accident.
All injuries were minor in nature and most were just for checkup and evaluation, officials say. Advanced Life Support services were never requested or needed.
Approximately, two hours earlier there was another accident at the same location also involving a Frederick County School bus with no injuries reported, officials say. The incidents are not connected but are both under investigation.
