ROCKVILLE, Md. (WUSA9) -- A Silver Spring man was found guilty of stabbing two people while they were waiting for their bus at the Rockville Metro station in December 2014.
Reginald Cooper, 38, was convicted Wednesday on two counts of attempted second degree murder.
"The public should rest assured that this major offender is off the streets. He stabbed two innocent by-standers waiting to take their bus to their English class at 6 a.m. on a weekday morning and were stabbed within inches of death. And now their assailant could be put behind bars for a substantial part of his adult life. We look forward to the maximum sentence in this matter," Maryland State's Attorney John McCarthy said in a statement.
Cooper is scheduled to be sentenced on September 25. He faces up to 60 years in prison.
