WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Road closures will be in place this Sunday for the the Scope it out 5K.
The follow closures will be in place:
The following streets will be closed from 5:00 am to 12:00 pm:
• Pennsylvania Avenue NW between 12th Street and 14th Street NW
• 13th Street NW between Pennsylvania Avenue NW and E Street NW
The following streets will be closed from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm:
• Pennsylvania Avenue NW between 13th Street and First Street NW
• 12th Street NW between E Street NW and Constitution Avenue NW
• 11th Street NW between E Street and Pennsylvania Avenue NW
• 10th Street NW between E Street and Constitution Avenue NW
• 9th Street NW between D Street and Constitution Avenue NW
• 7th Street NW between Indiana Avenue NW and Constitution Avenue NW
• 6th Street NW between C Street NW and Constitution Avenue NW
• 4th Street NW between Pennsylvania Avenue NW and D Street SW
• 3rd Street NW from Constitution Avenue NW to D Street SW
• D Street. SW between 3rd Street and 4th Street SW
• Independence Avenue SE, from 7th Street to 3rd Street SW
Motorists traveling in the area of this event may experience delays and should consider alternative routes, if possible. The Metropolitan Police Department and the District Department of Transportation would like to remind motorists to pay full attention whenever operating any motor vehicle and to be mindful of heavy pedestrian traffic that may be associated with special events. These street closings are subject to change without notice based upon unanticipated events and prevailing conditions.
