WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA9) -- A man has been arrested for assaulting a 20-year-old woman in Prince William County.
Police say they were called to a residence in the 13400 block of Pinetree Drive in Woodbridge on June 11 around 4 p.m. to investigate an assault. A caller reported to police that they witnessed a man engaged in a verbal altercation with a woman.
During the encounter, the man assaulted the woman and, at one point, forcibly dragged her into the residence, police say. Officers arrived and made contact with both parties, who were known to each other.
The victim sustained minor injuries.
Following the investigation, the man, identified as 25-year-old Timothy Stanford Carpenter, was arrested without further incident. He faces charges of abduction and assault and battery.
