MANASSAS, Va. (WUSA9) -- A 44-year-old Manassas man is dead after a shooting early Friday morning, city officials said.
The shooting happened around 1 a.m. in the 9200 block of Byrd Drive, the City of Manassas said in a release.
When officers got to the scene they found Jose Tomas Velasquez, 44, of Manassas suffering from several gunshot wounds. He was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation remains ongoing.
