Police: Additional charges expected for former Fairfax County teacher accused of illegally recording victims

Raphael Schklowsky, a former drama teacher at Hernon High School, is said to have illegally taken more than 3,500 videos of unsuspecting victims.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. —

Police have announced more charges are forthcoming for a former Fairfax County school teacher previously arrested on charges of child porn and unlawful filming.

Fairfax County police announced Wednesday they uncovered more evidence of illegal recordings from Raphael Schklowsky -- a former Drama teacher at Herndon High School.

Schklowsky, 36, was previously charged with 20 felony counts of possession of child porn and one felony charge of unlawful filming in April.

Schklowsky placed on leave on April 8 after the school learned of the charges against him.

When Schlowsky attended a hearing in May for his original charges, police announced 21 more charges against him.

While police did not initially believe any of the videos were filmed at the high school, authorities announced they now have more evidence that proves otherwise.

Now, police are working to identify as many as 10 juvenile victims and although 9 out of 10 were positively identified-- officials believe there may be more.

Authorities were originally tipped off to Schlowsky's actions months ago after a woman reportedly found a hidden camera in the air conditioning vent of a home she worked in.

Police linked the hidden camera back to Schklowsky and charged him with four misdemeanor counts of unlawful filming. He was then taken into custody on a $5,000 bond.

Since then, police said they found more than 3,500 videos recorded on several devices from the state of Virginia and New York.

Fairfax County authorities are working with New York officials to investigate the evidence found in New York.

Police are expected to announce the full scope of charges soon. For now Schklowsky will remain in custody and be held without bond.

If you or someone you know thinks they may have been illegally recorded or photographed at Herndon High School between May 2017 and June 2018, please contact police at 703-246-7800.
