BURTONSVILLE, Md. (WUSA9) -- Paint Branch High School is open Thursday but school officials have increased police and security presence after the school allegedly receiving a threat, theprincipal tweeted out.
Principal Myriam Yarbrough tweeted that the Burtonsville school is open Thursday.
School is open today. We will have an increased police and security presence. I will send out an additional ConnectEd update as well.

According to Montgomery County police, a threat was made on Twitter against the high school Wednesday night. Students were the first to see the threat on social media and took a screenshot of the message.
Police say somebody tweeted something regarding shooting up the school "tomorrow."
Investigators met with school administrators Wednesday night and investigated the incident.

Authorities say a similar threat was made against Bowie High School Wednesday in Prince George's County. Police are investigating that incident as well.
