OXON HILL, Md. (WUSA9) -- Prince George's County police say they are investigating a homicide in the 6100 block of Oxon Hill Road on Thursday.
According to a police tweet, the victim was a woman.
They also tweeted, "We were called to assist @DCPoliceDept w/a missing child case when body was discovered. Victim is an adult."
The missing child is 8-year-old Relisha Rudd, who was last seen in Southeast D.C. (http://on.wusa9.com/1dsF3Ce)
A Prince George's County police official later told us that D.C. police alerted them that one of the cars sought in the Rudd case was seen at a Red Roof Inn along Oxon Hill Road. When officers arrived, they found a woman dead inside a room. The official says it appears she suffered from blunt force trauma.
The police official would not confirm that the car spotted at the hotel was indeed the same car Relisha Rudd was last seen in.
Relisha Rudd is still missing.
