Eastern Pennsylvania’s Allentown Police Department is asking for help finding a 16-year-old girl named Amy Yu that reportedly went missing in Mexico.
An Amber alert was issued late Thursday night in Mexico stating that the teen has been missing since March 5.
Police believe the Yu may be with Kevin Esterly, 45, whom she allegedly had a secret relationship with.
Esterly’s wife filed a criminal complaint stating that her husband withdrew $4,000 from her bank account and that his car and personal documents were gone.
Yu and Esterly met at church.
Gary Hammer of the Colonial Regional Police, who has jurisdiction over Yu’s school, Lehigh Valley Academy, said that Yu appeared to be friends with one of Esterly’s daughters. Hammer also stated that Yu altered her records and listed Esterly as her stepfather. He reportedly signed her out of school 10 times.
According to Police, Yu is about 4 feet 11 inches tall and 90 pounds, while Esterly is 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 185 pounds.
Authorities believe they may be driving a 1999 red, two-door Honda Accord with the Pennsylvania plate KLT 0529.
Anyone who sees Yu or Esterly is asked to call 911, local police or the Allentown Police at 610-437-7751.
