OLNEY, Md. (WUSA9) -- One of the victims in a fatal Friday night plane crash outside of Pittsburgh, Pa. has ties to a popular eatery in Olney, Md.
Employees left a card and flowers outside of Sisters' Sandwiches & Such on Georgia Avenue Saturday as a way to pay their respects. Several people told WUSA9 the husband of one of the restaurant's owners is one of two men killed when a small plane the man was piloting, crashed outside of the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Farmington, PA.
Outside of the Olney restaurant, patrons were in shock.
"It's a wonderful place, everybody in the community knows about Sisters' of course and they come here for fresh sandwiches and salads but, you know the news, you know you can never really prepare yourself for something like that," said Lee Kramer who came with his wife to enjoy a warm afternoon at the restaurant's outdoor patio.
They ran into closed signs due to the family tragedy.
"Our hearts go out to the family. I feel terrible. It's a terrible situation," said Kramer.
"It's tragic, yeah. Especially this time of the year. Too many bad things in the news, it's like constant," said Kramer's wife, Debra Kramer.
An online profile says Terry A. Carlson, the crashed plane's pilot, worked as a managing director for a government contracts consulting practice. The company has offices in Reston, Va. among other locations.

Pennsylvania police say 26-year-old Jason Williams of Silver Spring, Md. also died in the crash.
Carlson's son, 27-year-old Erik Carlson, survived and was flown to a hospital with severe burns.
"I did have some interaction with one of the owners and she was really kind because I was asking for donations for a charitable organization," said Jule Litten, who went back to the restaurant's front door to read the message posted.
"I'm totally shocked and my heart goes out to them because them being sisters, I imagine that one is also like a brother, a sister-in-law and it just sounds terrible and I hope and pray that their son is going to make a quick recovery too."
"Sister's Sandwiches will be closed until further notice," the sign outside of the restaurant reads.
"There has been a death in the family. Please respect our privacy and keep us in your prayers during these difficult times," it continues.
On Saturday, an NTSB Spokesperson told WUSA9 they relocated the aircraft for further investigation. Sources told WTAE in Pittsburgh shortly after plane took off, a door on the plane malfunctioned, came off and hit the plane's wing. The plane then crashed, hitting trees and catching fire.
