MANASSAS PARK, Va. — It's been more than three months since anyone has heard from or seen Mamta Kafle Bhatt.
The 28-year-old mother and nurse from Manassas Park was reported missing by her husband, Naresh Bhatt, on Aug. 5, but police say the last time anyone spoke with her, was July 29.
Manassas Park Police Chief Mario Lugo told WUSA9 that Mamta Kafle Bhatt's mother spoke with her daughter on July 29.
"I would talk to her every day once or twice," said her mother, Gita Kafle.
She and Mamta's brother Mahesh Kafle, spoke to WUSA9 Monday night.
"She support everybody. She was very kind-hearted to everybody. Not only to me and my family, everybody," said Mahesh Kafle of his sister.
Both fought back tears as they described her.
"My daughter was very hard working. A very sincere person, very honest person. I haven't seen anybody like her. She was very honest. My daughter was a very strong, hard-working, intelligent person," said Gita Kafle. "Even when she was very small, she was very sincere and honest".
The two told WUSA9 that Mamta Kafle Bhatt worked hard to become a nurse and was well-liked.
"She was very good in her education. She would make sure to greet everyone Namaste whenever she saw anybody. She hasn't done wrong to anybody. Everybody knows that. She would always greet. She was very bright and beautiful as well," said Gita Kafle.
She told WUSA9 that she last spoke with her daughter on July 29, but said Mamta never mentioned anything negative.
"She would only talk to me about good things. Because I was far, she would not tell me about anything bad," said Gita Kafle.
She said her daughter would talk to her about work and her 1-year-old little girl. The little girl has been with Mamta's mother and brother since they arrived in the United States.
Investigators have painted a disturbing picture of what they believe happened to the 28-year-old mother and nurse.
In court documents, Manassas Park Police officer C. Ventura wrote that police found a substantial amount of digital and forensic evidence and that police believe Naresh Bhatt murdered his wife and attempted to cover it up.
"There was evidence in the residence indicating the body was inside the residence and dragged out of the residence," the officer wrote in the criminal complaint.
"We don't want to imagine the things that happen," said Mahesh Kafle.
He told WUSA9 that right now they are focused on taking care of the baby.
"Please continue supporting us. Please continue helping us in the process as well," said Mahesh Kafle.
He also said they're eternally grateful for the outpouring of support from the community.
"I'd like to give my sincere thank you to everyone when my sister was lost, who helped to look for her," said Mahesh Kafle.
"I'd like to say thank you to everybody to all the people in the U.S. who has really really helped me and Mamta might get justice because of that," said Gita Kafle.
While they are hopeful for justice, they are devastated that Mamta Kafle Bhatt is still nowhere to be found.
"My heart is hurt. She was a person who was very hardworking, very beautiful very honest. She aspired to be somebody great and she worked really hard and she could be. I don't know what to say because I can never forget her but whenever I think about it I have my heartache," said Gita Kafle.
Naresh Bhatt, her husband, is facing a single charge of concealing a dead body. His trial is set to begin in December.
