Metro's "Next-Train" Sign Issues Resolved

Complaints about "next-train" signs gets resolved.
"Next Train" information will now be displayed on Passenger Information Displays at several Metro platforms

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Blue Line riders' complaints about missing "next-train" information prompted Metro to fix its passenger information displays.

Metro Spokesman Dan Stessel said, passengers can now see the next-train times to both end-of-the-lines for the Blue Line heading towards Largo and end-of-the-line information for the Orange Line heading towards the New Carrollton station.

Stessel says the "always show Blue" is at stations where people need to know how far away the next Blue Line train is to make an informed decision about taking the Yellow Line. Next-Train for the Blue Line included westbound platforms.

Riders inbound from Virginia heading towards Largo will see "Next Train" information for the Blue Line at:

  • Pentagon
  • Pentagon City
  • Crystal City
  • Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport
  • Braddock Road
  • King Street
  • Van Dorn Street

Riders outbound from DC heading towards Franconia will See "Next Train" information for the Blue Line at:

  • Rosslyn
  • Foggy Botton
  • Farragut West
  • McPherson Square
  • Metro Center
  • Federal Triangle
  • Smithsonian

Riders at L'Enfant Plaza traveling to Virginia will not see next train information for the Blue Line. Riders should take the Yellow Line which is more direct route.
