More than 80 firefighters responded to the 7800 block of Tysons Corner Center in McLean around 6:04 p.m. for reports of smoke coming from the three-story wing of the mall.

When they arrived, firefighters aggressively put on the fire.

Investigators say the fire started in the hood of a system above a solid fuel (wood) cooking appliance.

Their appliance caused grease within the hood system to reach its ignition temperature. The fire was contained to the exhaust duct.

Officials say there are no reported injuries.

Damages are estimated to cost $35,000.
