MCLEAN, Va. (WUSA 9) -- His sled collided with a vehicle last week that left him in a coma. Since the accident, a whole community has been rallying behind a 6-year-old Virginia boy online.

Now they're hitting the streets. Stephanie Ramirez was in McLean today as dozens of supporters hit the pavement in a walk for 6-year-old Bensten Schone.

The accident happened last Wednesday in the 7100 block of Matthew Mills Road in McLean, which is near Old Dominion Drive. The family asked for prayers on social media and folks are responding.

The family has been updating the boy's condition on carepages.com. According to the site, Bensten has started opening his eyes and moving his fingers.
