CAPITOL HEIGHTS, Md. — A woman was found dead inside a vehicle in the parking lot of an industrial park in Capitol Heights, Maryland on Thursday morning, Prince George's County police said.
Officers were called to do a wellness check in the 8700 block of Ritchie Drive around 5:30 a.m. when they found a woman inside a car, police said.
The woman was discovered with trauma to her upper body with bruising. She was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
Police noticed that one of the car windows was broken into. Detectives are working to find out how the car damage relates to what lead up to the woman's death.
The woman's death has been ruled a homicide, officials said.

Moments before this incident, Prince George's County police were called to investigate their first homicide of the year.
Officers were called to a home in the 7400 block of Varnum Street in Hyattsville, Maryland near the Landover Hills community around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday. When officers arrived at the scene, they found an unresponsive woman inside the home suffering from gunshot wounds.
An investigation revealed that the gunfire came from outside of her home. Bullet holes were seen in the front window of the residence.
