What to eat at the Maryland State Fair

The 135th MY Maryland State Fair brings fair food favorites and new items to delight the taste buds. The fair starts Thursday, August 25, and goes through Labor Day.

The 135th MY Maryland State Fair brings fair food favorites and new items to delight the taste buds. The fair starts Thursday, August 25, and goes through Labor Day.

The Maryland Food Pavilion will offer candied apples, caramel popcorn, corn-on-the-cob and the indulgent fried oreo. Lamb, turkey, chicken and beef entrees will also be provided.

  • Maryland Pork Day on Saturday, August 27
  • Maryland Fruit & Vegetable Day on Wednesday, August 31
  • Maryland Lamb Day on Friday, September 2

Taste the state's micro-brews from the Brewers Association of Maryland, Friday, August 26 -Sunday, August 28 and Friday, September 2 – Monday, September 5.

Thirsty patrons will also be able to hydrate with iced teas from Tiki Tea huts stationed around fair grounds. The water sponsor is GP8 Oxygen water.

On Sept. 3rd, the 4H Alumni club will hold its baking and bid competition. One entrant will take home top prize for the best baked item available for sale. The public will be able to taste and purchase cakes, pies and cookies.

Oyster Alley and the U-Learn Farm stations will show the importance of growing food on land and in the Chesapeake Bay.
