Police are searching for the gunman that shot a teen on Riverdale Road

Once first responders arrived at the scene and examined the teen, they discovered his wounds were more serious than the initial report.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. — Officers are investigating a shooting that left a teenager seriously injured.

The shooting occurred in the 6700 block of Riverdale Road, near Baltimore-Washington Parkway. Prince George’s County Police received a call just after 4:30 p.m. on Saturday of shots fired. 

When they arrived, they found a teenage boy suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers initially thought the wounds were minor. But, once first responders arrived at the scene and examined the teen, they discovered his wounds were more serious than the initial report. 

The teenager was taken to the hospital for treatment. PGPD has not released the age of the victim. We also have not received an update on his current condition. 

Prince George’s County Police have not named any suspects or given a motive at this time.
