RIVERDALE, Md. — A teen is in the hospital in critical condition after being struck by a bus in Riverdale.
Police say they got a call just before 2:15 p.m. Tuesday that a juvenile was struck by a vehicle near Parkdale High School. Police said the victim was a teen who had been taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition.
WMATA told WUSA9 the teen was hit by a school bus. The driver of the school bus remained on the scene until police arrived.
Parkdale High School confirmed Wednesday morning that the teen is a student at the school. The school bus, however, is not a Parkdale High School school bus, according to the statement.
A representative from Prince George's County reached out to WUSA9 to further clarify, that the school bus involved was not a Prince George's County School bus.
At this time, it is unknown what the circumstances of the crash were or to whom the school bus belongs.
