OXON HILL, Md. — You may have heard of Sip and Paint, but how about Sip & Develop?
The concept is simple. You come in, pick a drink, and get ready to learn all about developing your very own black and white photos.
"It all started in my basement," explained Rashon Robinson, the owner of Sip & Develop.
"I created a dark room in my basement and I would have friends and family over and I would always go in the dark room and invite them in. No one wanted to ever leave the music and beverages they were drinking. So, I thought how cool would it be if I could combine all this stuff together and get them in the dark room and actually have some fun," said Robinson.
The Army veteran gave WUSA9 a behind the scenes look at what you can experience if you stop by.
It begins with a photoshoot, or you can take a camera out and shoot your own photos.
Then you come in and watch a video to learn how to develop your film, using the lab box.
"It's basically a dark room in a lit classroom environment," said Robinson.
Robinson says his favorite parts of this process are the "wow" moments.
"There's a red light that shines and you can see the image appear before your eyes, and when the lights come on you really see the full effect of your photo and all of your hard work," he said.
