MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — Road crews have fully repaired a sinkhole that opened up in Montgomery County Tuesday evening.
A portion of Clopper Road in Montgomery County was closed for hours Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning because of a large sinkhole.
Crews worked through the night Tuesday and all day Wednesday to make repairs and open the road to traffic. WSSC Water crews said a broken 24-inch water main was to blame for the sinkhole.
The broken pipe was removed and replaced. The section of the road where the repair happened has been repaved and Clopper Road in Germantown is fully back open as of Thursday morning, officials said.
