Investigation underway after single-vehicle crash in Cheverly leaves driver dead

Investigators are working to determine what led up to the collision.

CHEVERLY, Md. — A man died Sunday evening after a crash in Cheverly, Maryland.

Officers with the Prince George's County Police Department responded around 7:35 p.m. to Landover Road, nearby Kilmer Street, after a report of single-vehicle collision in the area. Upon arrival, they closed off the 6500 block of Landover Road between Route 50 and Kilmer Street as they investigated what happened.

In addition, at the location, the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a man, was pronounced dead. The identity of the driver has not been released, including his name, age, and where he is from.

No additional information has been released about the crash. Investigators are working to determine what led up to the collision. The closed road has also since been reopened to the public.
