9 people without a home after Prince George's Co. fire

Seven adults and two children were displaced in the fire, according to firefighters.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. — Nine people are without a place to live after a fire in Prince George's County early Sunday morning. Firefighters in Prince George's County said a fire in a shed in Seat Pleasant spread to a family home.

Firefighter with the Prince George's County Fire and EMS Department responded to the 200 block of 69th Street for a reported house fire around 3 a.m. Sunday. When crews arrived on scene, they found a shed engulfed in flames. The flames had spread to a single-family home nearby. Crews worked to bring the fire under control, and searched the home, but found no one inside.

Crews were able to put the fire out, but said nine people were displaced in the blaze. The Prince George's County Office of Emergency Management is working to assist the seven adults and two children displaced in the fire. 

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Additional details were not immediately available.
