CROFTON, Md. (WUSA*9) -- All lanes of Route 3 have reopened after a violent crash in Crofton that has left one person dead.
Anne Arundel Co. Police responded to the scene of a fatal collision on Rt. 3/Crain Highway at Rt. 450/Defense Highway which occurred around 1:00 a.m. Officials say a passenger car apparently ran into the rear of a truck, killing the driver of the car.
The investigation and accident reconstruction blocked the southbound lanes and one northbound lane of Route 3 for over four hours.
The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
