WHEATON, Md. (WUSA9) -- Nearly 3,000 Pepco customers were without power in Wheaton Wednesday morning, according to Pepco's website.
The power outage was between Georgia Avenue and Randolph, Montgomery County police said. For several hours, traffic was being directed by police officers.
At one point Pepco's website showed that 2,954 customers were without power.
Power was restored by 11 a.m.
Officials say a problem at a substation caused the outage.
