LANGLEY PARK, Md. — Police continue to search for suspects in connection to the killing of a 2-year-old boy who was caught in the crossfire of a shooting in Langley Park last week.
Jeremy Poou-Caceres was shot and killed in the 1400 block of Kanawha Street in Langley Park Thursday when two groups started shooting at one another while he and his 17-year-old mother were walking outside their apartment complex. Less than 24 hours later, police announced that 33-year-old Israel Fuentas, Jr., and 28-year-old Johnny Alejandro Turcios had been arrested and charged in the toddler's death and his mother's wounding.
The two men are facing first-degree murder charges but the search is not over as investigators say they believe two more people were inside a carjacked vehicle the suspects used in the shooting.
On Tuesday, homicide detectives released a video of two people of interest connected to the deadly shooting of 2-year-old Jeremy.
The video shows one suspect walk into a convenience store and appears to have a face covering over the lower part of his face. While talking to someone in the store, he moves the face covering lower before walking out. The second person of interest appears in a video at the register of a convenience store.
Police say the first person of interest was spotted getting out of a 2003 gold Ford Explorer before walking into the store. Detectives say that Explorer is the carjacked vehicle used in the Langley Park shooting and was later found abandoned less than a mile away.
