GAITHERSBURG, Md. — Montgomery County Police (MCP) have launched a homicide investigation after a 20-year-old man was founded dead in a wooded area in Silver Spring, Maryland.
On Nov. 9, officers from the third district were called to the 9000 block of Piney Brach Road for a report of a shooting just before 6 p.m.
Once at the scene, officers found a man suffering from gunshot wound. The victim was hospitalized in serious condition, police said.
Then, MCP K9 officers found a second victim who was found dead in a wooded area nearby, authorities said. He was identified as 20-year-old Edvin Moises Agustin Leon.
Leon's body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore where an autopsy was conducted. A medical examiner determined Leon's cause of death was homicide.
No suspects have been identified by MCP investigators in either incident.
