MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — A boy was shot in the parking garage of a Metro station in Montgomery County Friday afternoon.
According to information posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, by the Montgomery County Department of Police, the shooting was reported shortly before 4:15 p.m. at the Glenmont Metro Station.
A large police presence could be seen at the Metro station in the 12500 block of Georgia Avenue.
"There is one juvenile victim with a gunshot wound to the lower body," Metro Transit Police Department said. The boy's age was not known.
The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Their injuries didn't appear life-threatening, police said.
Police are searching the area of a suspect.
