DISTRICT HEIGHTS, Md. (WUSA9) -- Police have identified a man killed in a shooting in District Heights on Wednesday night.
The victim is identified as Cortney Deontray Beckham, 22, of Lorring Drive in District Heights.
The shooting happened around 9 p.m. while a group of men were gathered in the 2700 block of Lorring Dr. in District Heights, police said. The incident happened outside of an apartment building.
A man approached a group and an argument broke out, police said. The man pulled out a gun and fired at the group, authorities said.
One man was shot and died at the scene. The shooter fled the scene, authorities said. He is being described as an African-American man wearing shorts.
A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest in this shooting.
