FREDERICK, Md. — Police are searching for a suspect after a shooting in Frederick, Maryland Tuesday afternoon.
The victim walked into Frederick Memorial Hospital after the shooting in the 300 block of Heather Ridge Drive. The victim has not been identified at this time, but police said he was in stable but serious condition.
No other injuries have been reported as a result of the shooting.
Police didn't have a suspect identified as of Tuesday afternoon, but they did believe they fled the scene in a dark-colored sedan.
They do not believe the shooting was random, and said there is no known threat to the public, police said.
Officials said they were canvassing the area to see if anyone had surveillance cameras nearby that may have captured something.
A local elementary school was put on lock down, but was quickly lifted.
Police said they are investigating to see if Tuesday's shooting is related to another shooting over the weekend that left four people hurt.
In that incident on the 600 block of North Market Street early Saturday morning, police said a 34-year-old Silver Spring man opened fire as part of a domestic dispute. Two women and two men had to be treated for their wounds in that shooting, and police arrested Bryant Helon McMillan, Jr.
