Man walking along Route 32, hit and killed by car

Police say the pedestrian was walking in the travel portion of the roadway when they were struck.

HOWARD COUNTY, Md. — The Howard County Police department is investigating a fatal collision involving a pedestrian in Clarksville, Maryland. 

The driver was traveling westbound along Route 32 at 12:30 a.m. on Saturday when they struck a pedestrian. Police say the pedestrian was walking in the travel portion of the roadway when they were struck. 

The pedestrian was an adult man, who unfortunately did not survive the accident. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The driver of the 2024 Toyota Corolla remained on the scene to assist police in their investigation. Westbound lanes of Route 32 remained closed for three hours.

At this time, we do not know the victim’s identity, nor what factors played into the collision.
