A new puppy joins the search and rescue team in Montgomery County

The Maryland-National Capital Park Police needs your help naming the Bloodhound.

SILVER SPRING, Md. — The Maryland-National Capital Park Police has a new recruit. 

The Montgomery County Division is welcoming a new Bloodhound puppy to join the search and rescue team, and they need your help naming her. 

Her potential name could be Belle, Jasmin, Moana or Raya. You can click here to cast your vote. 

She will be joining two other Bloodhounds on the search and rescue team in Montgomery County, Dolly and Chloe.

Bloodhounds have a strong sense of smell and are one of the best dog breeds to track and locate missing people. 

Voting ends Monday. Her official name will be announced after voting closes.
