Md. man hits potential stalker in head with pipe

LOTHIAN, Md. (WUSA9) -- Police say the neighbor of a potential stalking victim banged the male stalker in the head with a large galvanized pipe early Wednesday morning.

Anne Arundel County Police responded to the report of a stalking complaint at 3:19 a.m. in the 1100 block of Mt. Zion Marlboro Road in Lothian.

Deputies then learned that the neighbor of the potential stalking victim ran after the 35-year-old male stalker with a large galvanized pipe after the suspect was banging on his exterior windows.

Police said the neighbor, Ronnie Hall, confronted the suspect hit him in the head with the pipe in a yard close by. The possible suspect in the alleged stalking sustained severe head trauma from being hit in the head, police said. He was taken the a local hospital via helicopter.

Ronnie Hall, 48, of Lothian, Md. was charged with attempted murder, first degree assault, second degree assault and reckless endangerment, police said.

The investigation is ongoing and will determine if the victim of the assault was potentially stalking a victim in the area, police said.
