LAUREL, Md. — A woman is being treated for her injuries after a tree collapsed on a home in Maryland Friday morning.
The Prince George's County Fire Department was dispatched just after 11:15 a.m. in Laurel, Maryland.
First responders arrived at the home in the 67000 block of Park Hall Drive and found a woman suffering from injuries that weren't considered life-threatening. She was transported to a hospital for treatment, according to officials.
Photos show the tree collapsed over a yard and breaking through the house. Officials have not provided any additional information about this incident.
This comes as many in the DMV are experiencing power outages due to the winter storm making its way through the region.
WUSA9 reported that Pepco's outage map showed thousands of people were reported to be out of power with the majority of the residents being in Montgomery Co, Prince George's Co. and D.C.
Additionally, Dominion Energy's power outage map showed thousands were without power in Northern Virginia.
Winter weather moved through the area Friday morning, bringing rain, snow and strong winds.
