HYATTSVILLE, Md. — A homicide investigation is underway in Hyattsville after a man was killed in a shooting Thursday night.
Officers with the Prince George's County Police Department responded to Ager Road, nearby Tuckerman Street, around 10:25 p.m. after reports of a shooting in the area. Upon arrival, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds in the parking lot.
The victim was 33-year-old Cesar Benitez of Chantilly, Virginia. Police pronounced Benitez dead at the scene.
Detectives are working to figure who may be responsible for killing the man and a motive in the deadly shooting. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
