UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (WUSA9) -- Ronald Hayes plead guilty Monday to two counts of negligent motor vehicle manslaughter after he struck and killed two women while he was fleeing from police.
The incident happened in December 2013 in which Hayes struck a Minivan carrying six passengers. Two passengers in the vehicle were killed, according to a news release sent out Monday.

At approximately 10 p.m. on Dec. 8, 2013, police responded to the 7100 block of Walker Mill Drive for reports of a shooting. Once police arrived, officers saw a dark colored Infiniti According to court officials, Hayes was driving the Infiniti with a female passenger in the car.
When officers attempted to stop him, Hayes fled, traveling at 80 mph in residential areas, court officials said. Hayes turned off his headlights in attempts to elude officers. A police helicopter unit was able to follow him.
According to officials, Hayes ran through a red light at the intersection of Hill Road and Central Avenue and struck a Dodge Minivan, killing the female driver and front passenger. The other four passengers were injured, including a 10-month old and two-year old, officials said.
Hayes then fled the scene of the accident on foot, but officials say officers were able to apprehend him.
Hayes will be sentenced June 23. His guidelines are six months to eight years, but court officials say prosecutors will be seeking a sentence above guidelines.
