DISTRICT HEIGHTS, Md. — A man has been arrested after police say he killed his 81-year-old mother in Prince George's County on Sunday morning.
Officers with the Prince George's County Police Department responded to a Brooks Drive home, off of Marlboro Pike, in District Heights around 8 a.m. Upon arrival, they found Madia Terry unresponsive in the living room of the home. Police were able to see bruising and trauma on her body, and she was pronounced dead at the home.
During an interview, police say 45-year-old Mark Terry admitted to assaulting his mother Madia during a dispute, causing her death. He is charged with first and second degree murder and other related charges, according to police. He is in the custody of the Department of Corrections.
