Man arrested for Bowie homicide

A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old in Bowie.
Robert Anthony Myers has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of 18-year-old Devante King, according to Prince George's County Police.

BOWIE, Md. (WUSA9) -- A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old in Bowie.

Robert Anthony Myers of Bowie has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of Devante Marcus King, police said.

The shooting took place at about 1: 15 a.m. on Thursday, according to police. Officers were called to the 13000 block of 6th Street for a report of a shooting. Officers responding to the scene found King suffering from gunshot wounds, police said.

King succumbed to his injuries several hours later, according to police.

Myers and King knew one another, and it appears the shooting stemmed from a fight between the two, police said.

Myers was arrested at his home on Thursday evening and has been charged with first degree murder, according to police.
