Maryland man charged with deadly double shooting in Hyattsville

Officers have not released any information regarding a motive.

HYATTSVILLE, Md. — A man is facing charges after a deadly double shooting in Hyattsville earlier this month. 

Alex Quinteros, 28, has been charged with first and second-degree murder, attempted murder, robbery and related charges.

According to a spokesperson with the Prince George's County Police Department, officers were called to the 2100 block of Guilford Road around 5:15 p.m. on Friday, April 14.

When officers arrived, they found two men had been shot. One of the men was conscious and breathing when help arrived. He was taken to an area hospital and is expected to survive.

The second man was pronounced dead by first responders. The man killed has since been identified as 24-year-old Rudy Perez Gutierrez.

Police say Quinteros did not know the two men is accused of shooting. 

Officers have not released any information regarding a motive.
