FREDERICK, Md. (WUSA9) -- A hiker was rescued Monday afternoon after he fell in Sugarloaf Mountain.

Just before 5 p.m., emergency crews responded to the mountain after a 911 caller said a man fell about 75 feet from a rocky cliff.

Due to the remote location and steep terrain, the man had to be rescued by helicopter.

The man, believed to be in his 20's, was airlifted to the Meritus Medical Center.

His condition is unknown.
