HYATTSVILLE, Md. — The Hyattsville police department is searching for the woman who assaulted a pregnant woman late last month.
According to police, the assault took place on January 28, in the 6400 block of America Boulevard in Hyattsville, at 7:40 p.m. The whole thing was captured by surveillance cameras outside of the building where the attack took place.
In the video, the attacker can be seen walking up to the building door wearing a brown North Face coat, white outfit and no shoes. She begins pacing around before removing her coat. The victim starts walking towards the building.
The video freezes just before the attack, but you can see the suspect approach the victim just seconds after removing her coat.
Police say the victim reported being punched and kicked in the stomach. EMS arrived and treated the victim at the scene, but her current condition is unknown at this time.
It is unknown if the two knew each other or if this was a random attack. Police are now asking anyone with information about the assault or the suspect to contact them at 301-985-5060.
