Person dead from trauma to the body; Homicide investigation underway in Prince George's County

Police have not released any information about a motive or person of interest in the case, but authorities are working to develop answers.

BELTSVILLE, Md. — A homicide investigation is underway in the Beltsville area of Prince George's County after a person was found unresponsive Thursday morning.

According to the Prince George's County Police Department, officers responded around 8:35 a.m. to the area of Odell Road and Grant Road after receiving a report of an unresponsive person. Upon arrival at the scene, they found a person suffering from trauma to the body.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. No information has been released regarding the victim in the case, this includes their name, age, or where they are from.

Police have not released any information about a motive or person of interest in the case, but authorities are working to develop answers. WUSA9 reached out to the police department for further information about the homicide, but they stated that the U.S. Park Police would be taking over the case.
