LANGLEY PARK, Md. — Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by the driver of a car Friday morning in Langley Park.
Officers with the Prince George's County Police Department responded to Merrimac Drive and New Hampshire Avenue after a pedestrian was struck in the area around 6:50 a.m. Upon arrival, they found the pedestrian injured at the location.
The unidentified victim was taken to the hospital to be treated. They are said to be conscious and breathing, but no additional information has been released about their condition.
The driver of the striking vehicle did not remain at the scene of the collision, resulting in the police department investigating it as a hit-and-run.
Detectives are working to determine the cause of the crash. The investigation is active and ongoing.
