PISCATAWAY, Md. — A Prince George's County firefighter was taken to the hospital on Thursday after a mansion caught on fire in Piscataway.
The fire was burning so intensely inside the house that firefighters had to move their efforts outside.
"When crews arrived on scene they found fire coming through the roof," Prince George's County Fire Department said on Thursday. "When they began an interior attack they realized they were in a potential collapse zone and evacuated."
The house is on the 14000 block of Livingston Road. Firefighters were unsure Thursday afternoon whether anyone was inside the house during the fire.
"At this time it is unclear whether the home was occupied, however, there are no reported injuries at this time," PGFD said at around 4:30 p.m.
There is no word on the condition of the firefighter taken to an area hospital at this time.
