OXON HILL, Md. (WUSA9) — Twenty-one-year-old Rickey Penn, of Waldorf, Md., has been charged in the fatal shooting of 26-year-old Stephon Mathis, of Linwood Drive in Oxon Hill.
Prince George's County Police officers arrived at the scene at about 6 p.m. on April 1st in the 600 block of Maury Avenue. Mathis was discovered outside suffering from gunshot wounds and was taken to the hospital. He died from his injuries hours later.
Penn was taken into custody and has been charged with second-degree murder and multiple handgun charges.
The motive currently remains under investigation.
